Workers affiliated with the ATE-ANAC union have announced a plan of action that includes assemblies and a possible national strike for next Tuesday, March 10, 2026. "We are exercising our right to protest the withholding of part of our salary. This situation is leading us to a strike next week," said the union's leader, Marcelo Belelli, to the Argentine News Agency. Belelli added that "the government has the tools to resolve the situation".
Details of the action measures
Workers are on alert and mobilization, holding assemblies at all airport terminals across the country since the first week of March. These measures could cause delays in airport operations.
National Strike
The 24-hour general strike is scheduled for March 10 as an ultimatum due to the lack of a satisfactory wage proposal from the national government. The union is demanding compliance with previous wage agreements and the reversal of pay cuts, which affects the technical and operational staff essential for air safety and logistics.
If no agreement is reached, a complete shutdown of the Argentine air transport system is expected on the day of the strike. Passengers are advised to check their flight status or contact their airlines directly to verify possible re-scheduling or cancellations.
